Aluminium 2014 is a robust, heat-treatable alloy made up of approximately 90.7% aluminium, 3.9–5.0% copper, 0.5–1.2% silicon, 0.4–1.2% manganese, and 0.2–0.8% magnesium, along with trace amounts of iron and zinc. It boasts excellent machinability and impressive tensile strength, reaching up to 483 MPa, with a yield strength of about 390 MPa in T6 condition. The Brinell hardness falls between 120 and 150 HB. While its corrosion resistance isn’t as high as some other aluminium alloys, it can be enhanced through anodizing or coatings. Aluminium 2014 is perfect for applications that demand outstanding fatigue resistance, high strength, and precision machining.
