Hastelloy X consists mainly of nickel (~47%), chromium (~22%), iron (~18%), and molybdenum (~9%), along with minute quantities of cobalt and other components for improved performance. This alloy possesses outstanding oxidation resistance up to 1200°C, combined with good formability, weldability, and creep-rupture strength. It generally possesses tensile strength of approximately 750–850 MPa and retains its mechanical properties in conditions of high stress, high temperatures. Hastelloy X is also resistant to stress-corrosion cracking and carburization and is thus applicable both structurally and thermally under severe conditions.
