Titanium grade 12 rods and bars contain titanium alloyed with 0.8% nickel and 0.3% molybdenum, which increases corrosion resistance and strength. The alloy has the formability of commercially pure titanium and also offers enhanced resistance to crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. The grade 12 titanium has a tensile strength of around 500–600 MPa and yield strength of around 400–450 MPa. It also offers good weldability, average ductility, and superb performance in hot acid or chloride solution environments. These mechanical and chemical features make grade 12 the best for challenging industrial applications with corrosive operating conditions.
