Titanium grade 10 bars and rods consist of titanium alloyed with trace contents of palladium (0.12–0.25%), which greatly enhances corrosion resistance in strongly reducing and weakly oxidizing environments. This alloy has a tensile strength of about 480–550 MPa and a yield strength of about 380–450 MPa, providing a good combination of mechanical strength and corrosion resistance. Titanium grade 10 also has superior crevice and stress corrosion cracking resistance in chloride-rich or acidic environments. It is still weldable and formable, and hence a good material to use in corrosive industrial applications.
