Aluminium 5005 is a non-heat-treatable alloy primarily made up of aluminium (~98.6%), with magnesium (0.5–1.1%) as the main alloying element. It also includes trace amounts of iron, silicon, copper, and chromium. This alloy is known for its outstanding corrosion resistance, especially in marine and industrial environments. Its mechanical properties feature a tensile strength ranging from 170–230 MPa and a yield strength of about 110–190 MPa, depending on the temper. With a Brinell hardness of 45–65 HB, it offers excellent workability, surface finish, and moderate strength, making it ideal for applications that require both form and function.
