Monel K500 is a precipitation-hardened nickel-copper alloy with about 63% nickel content, 30% copper, and small amounts of aluminum and titanium. These aspects bring greater strength and hardness compared to Monel 400 without sacrificing corrosion resistance. The alloy provides tensile strength of as much as 1100 MPa, yield strength of approximately 790 MPa, and elongation of roughly 20%. Monel K500 retains its properties in sub-zero and high-temperature environments. It also resists stress corrosion cracking as well as erosion and is best suited for extremely corrosive as well as high-stress conditions.
